The projected path of Hurricane Gustav appears to be towards Cuba and Haiti. The storm is expected to be much more powerful than Hurricane Fay, which was a category 2 hurricane. Hurricane Gustav is believed to be lingering by Central America and gaining much more momentum than Fay was. It is unclear whether Hurricane Gustav will maintain it’s strength as it moves along.
The projected path of Hurricane Gustav towards Haiti and Cuba is a bit unsettling, with wind speeds expected to hover around 85mph. People living in these areas are already preparing to evacuate - they don’t want to risk falling within the projected path of Hurricane Gustav. The storm is expected to make landfall in Cuba either Today or tomorrow.
The hurricane is not good news for those living in Haiti - they’ve been facing problems with their national food production quotas. This storm indeed spells trouble for the area. Haiti also took a significant hit from Hurricane Fay, which killed more than 20 people in the area.
The projected path of Hurricane Gustav can and will change with time. Thus, we recommend that those living in the affected areas keep updated on news surrounding the hurricane. We hope that Hurricane Gustav will begin loosing momentum as it moves along, and thus posing less and less of a problem to those areas in its projected path.
