Heide Stefanyshyn Piper is currently a Naval officer as well as a member of the space exploration institution known as NASA. Heide Stefanyshyn Piper is an astronaut for NASA. Piper is of Ukranian heritage and graduated from a Minnesota-based High School in 1980. She holds a BS and Masters degree in mechanical engineering from the prestigious MIT.

Heide Stefanyshyn Piper first visited outer-space in September of 2006. With this flight, she became the 8th women to perform a spacewalk. Heide Stefanyshyn Piper is the second most experienced spacewalker. She is also the first individual from Minnesota to visit outer-space.

Piper is currently acting as a mission specialist in a recent NASA flight. She lost a tool bag earlier this week, however, NASA denies that the bag was of great importance.
