The heavy set Mayra Lizbeth Rosales was indicted yesterday for her role in the murder of her sister’s son, Elisio Gonzalez, Jr. Rosales is facing one count of first degree murder. Rosales currently weighs in at a disturbing 1,000 pounds and is only 27 years old.

Mayra Lizbeth Rosales is also facing an additional count for injuring the child before committing the murder. An autopsy revealed that Mayra Lizbeth Rosales struck the child before going ahead with the murder.

Mayra Lizbeth Rosales’ weight has posed a problem in her detainment. Officials have been unable to remove her from her home, considering her large size. We wouldn’t want to imagine the costs involved in removing Mayra Lizbeth Rosales, let alone transporting her to the local jail. Further, Mayra Lizbeth Rosales also needs to be fed, a bill which us task payers will have to flip.

Mayra Lizbeth Rosales’ sister is not out of hot water. She too was charged for negating her children. The sister was seen leaving her three children with Mayra Lizbeth Rosales on numerous occasions. Hopefully, the sister will also get a good amount of time in jail for being so negligent with her children. She is nowhere near as large as Mayra Lizbeth Rosales, thus we don’t believe taking her into custody will be as much of a problem.

So the question remains, what should they do with Mayra Lizbeth Rosales? We think it’d probably be best to just let her stay at home and possibly attach a monitoring device to her. She’s obviously not going to be such a threat to society, considering her enormous size. Actually removing her from her home and detaining her could be a costly process, something we feel taxpayers don’t need to piggyback.

We’ll have to keep an eye on this to see what prosecutors decide to do. In th end, they’ll likely still proeed with removing her from her home. Oh well, can’t say this would be the first incident of questionable spending of taxpayer money.
