Its amazing what a little innovation can do in today’s world. Some world class “innovators” have invented what is dubbed as “cheese heroin”. Its a concoction of black tar Mexican heroin and some over the counter medications that contain antihistamine diphenhydramine. This combination has proved to be very deadly. Over the past 2 years, 21 people have died from experimenting with this new type of drug.

Now, let me touch on what I believe is the very scary portion of this story. Middle schoolers have acknowledged the existence of this drug. Why? Because they are the target demographic for it. First, it’s cheap. Middle schoolers have very limited finanical resources, but “cheese” allows them to look past that problem.

For $2 a hit, what would keep them from trying to experiment? That advent is in my opinion nothing short of horrific. The name further suggests that the creators of the drug planned to target the younger population. Is there any fear in the word cheese? No, right? That’s exactly the way kids are interpreting the drug. The name makes it seem like its almost harmless. Even more bad news for parents, the drug is gaining momentum very quickly. It is becoming almost as prominent as marijuana in youth environments. Are people really losing their minds this badly? What kind of sick people market drugs to high school students let alone middle school students?
